I thought it might be fun to share how this engagement session actually came to be in this post. Janelle and Kevin both reside in San Jose, California, but are Canadians to the core. Not unlike my husband and I, work (and each other!) had brought them to the United States. When we were trying to hammer out plans for what was suppose to be their Rocky Mountain engagement session, we struggled getting our dates aligned. What if, I proposed, we did their session in nearby San Francisco instead?
After all of the logistics were ironed out, Janelle and I set to the task of narrowing down locations for her session with Kevin. With a list a mile long (seriously, where did I NOT want to shoot in SF?!), we settled on Legion of Honor, along with Marin Headlands and Black Sands Beach. Although I had been to San Francisco previously (on my honeymoon many moons ago!), I had never been across the bridge. All I can say is WOW. The views, the light, the landscape – I seriously considered packing up all of our worldly possessions and hauling my family here afterwards. It was that beautiful.
And so we have the story of how three Canadians ended up in San Francisco for what is undoubtedly one of the the most memorable evenings of my professional career. Janelle & Kevin, I am so glad our paths have crossed and I’m beyond excited to celebrate with you next year!
