Thank you Jennifer + Trenton for allowing me to share your amazing and beautiful story.
Last July, only a few days before Greg + I were leaving for Thailand, I received the sweetest email from Jennifer wondering if I was available for her wedding at the Banff Springs Hotel on January 19th, 2013. Sometimes the universe brings people into your life at the exact time you need to meet them, and I truly feel this way about Jennifer + Trenton. From our first meeting hearing all about their epic proposal story (these two are self-professed Disneyland freaks – Trenton even proposed to Jen at Snow White’s wishing well, complete with a Mickey Mouse ring because he just couldn’t wait to ask her!) to their gorgeous engagement session in Banff, I knew that these two had a really special love for one another, and I am just so happy that I have been witness to their wedding day.
In my discussions with Jennifer before her wedding, we talked a lot about what was important to her + Trenton with regards to photography. What she told me went so far beyond a typical shot list of “must-haves” – there were no requests for details, for flowers, for centerpieces (although these were all done beautifully). What Jennifer truly wanted was for her day to be captured in a way that showed all of the moments, as her guests encountered them. Jen had so much foresight to understand that although she was the bride, the center of attention, she was only going to be able to experience a portion of her day. “Get the people,” she told me, “I want to be able to experience the day as they did through your photos.” With the help of the incomparably talented Sarah of Sarah Vaughan Photography as my trusty second shooter, I think I was able to accomplish just that. Here’s to beautiful couples, beautiful moments, and telling the story. My heartfelt congratulations Jennifer + Trenton!
And then Gangnam Style happened…
